Consistent with article 39 of the Act of 3 October 2008 on disclosure of environmental information and public participation in environment protection and environmental impact assessments, the President of the National Water Management Authority is here to inform that the works on drafting forecasts assessing potential impact of the draft FRMP on the environment have started with regard to the following draft documents:
- Flood Risk Management Plans (FRMP) covering Vistula River Basin (including the FRMP covering water regions of Lower Vistula, including the impact caused by sea and inland maritime waters, Central Vistula, Little Vistual and Upper Vistula);
- Flood Risk Management Plan (FRMP) covering Oder River Basin (including the FRMP covering water regions of Lower Oder and West Littoral, including the impact caused by sea and inland maritime waters, Warta, Central Oder and Upper Oder;

Draft plans have been published at the end of December 2014 on http://www.powodz.gov.pl, a website dedicated to providing information about the plans and supporting the process of 6 month-long public consultations as well as the regulatory obligation to ensure public participation in the drafting of documents.
Environmental impact assessment of the draft FRMP is part of the procedure that aims at evaluating environmental impact of the effects of the plans’ completion, which is referred to as the strategic environmental impact assessment.
The strategic environmental impact assessment involves two stage process of public consultations. Stage 1 will focus on informing and educating (in order to raise the awareness and knowledge about the environmental and social analyses run), whereby, Stage 2 will involve formal consultations of draft forecasts/assessments, which are scheduled to be ready by the end of June 2015. Information campaign has been scheduled to start in January 2015 and last until the end of the project, i.e. until 30 November 2015. The campaign will be run via website http://www.powodz.gov.pl. Formal consultations have been planned to take place in July 2015.
We have the pleasure to welcome everyone to join the consultation process, both with regard to the draft FRMP and environmental impact assessment of the draft FRMP.
