On May 10, 2018, at the headquarters of the Polish Waters in Warsaw, Grzybowska 80/82, was a meeting of the Deputy President of the Polish Waters, Flood and Drought Protection, Krzysztof Woś, with the representatives of the local communities from Korczyn, Załawie and Biecz – Biecz municipality, Małopolskie province. 

The meeting was also attended by Mrs Barbara Bartus (MP, PIS), representing the 14th constituency Nowy Sącz. The subject of the meeting was flood hazard in the municipality of Biecz. The representatives of local communities presented the scale of flood hazard in their municipality and discussed the difficulties in the implementation of technical projects related to flood protection in Korczyn, Załawie and Biecz. President Woś declared the will of the Polish Waters to take action in order to solve the existing problems. Representatives of the Department of Flood and Drought Protection and an expert from the consortium implementing the review and update of flood risk and flood hazard maps presented ongoing and planned activities to assess the level of flood hazard in order to ensure adequate flood protection in Korczyn, Załawie and Biecz.
