Consultations on the Drafts of the Flood Management Risk Plans (PZPR) are starting now
22 December 2014 r.
The President of the National Water Management Authority informs that following the provisions of the Flood Directive, the process of consulting the drafts of the Flood Risk Management Plans has been launched.
Started on 22 December 2014, the six-month long consultations will be finalised on 22 June 2015.
Public participation in decision-making concerning flood prevention and protection is therefore needed, both to improve the quality and the implementation of the decisions, and to give the public the opportunity to express its concerns and to enable authorities to take due account of such concerns. All measures linked to public information and awareness raising are most effective when they involve participation at all levels, from the local community through the national government to the regional and international level. (Best Practices on Flood Prevention, Protection and Mitigation, Water Directors meeting, Athens, 2003).
The risk flood plans have been published on www.powodz.gov.pl
