Where is Poland’s water management heading to?

6th National Water Forum 2015

On 9-10 June, Warsaw hosted two-day event - the Water Forum. Encouraged by the President of the National Water Management Authority, experts and practitioners in water resources management engaged in a debate on the most important natural resource in Poland – the water. During the conference that took place on the National Stadium in Warsaw, the participants discussed water management in Poland, issues connected with providing Polish citizens with continues access to water and protection against its excess.

RWMA regional conference in Kraków

Nearly 90 people involved in water management attended this regional conference on May, 26. Hosted by the Jagiellonian University, it was one of the last meetings organized under the public consultations that end on June, 22 and concern the Flood Risk Management Plans.

Public consultations on the draft FRMP for the river basins completed

28 May 2015 r.

Consultation meetings dedicated to the draft plans covering river basins of Vistula, Oder and Pregolya rivers ended the series of meetings organized as part of the FRMP public consultations. 21 meetings took place across the country and they were all organized under the 1st planning cycle of the Flood Directive dedicated to the draft FRMP drafted for 9 water regions and 3 river basins.

More and more people interested in public consultations

In March and April, during 9 meetings that took place in those two months, the Flood Risk Management Plans covering the water regions of the Lower, Central and Upper Vistula river, Central Oder and Łyna and Węgorapa were put up for discussion. The great interest in the subject of flood risk management is very satisfactory.

Regional RWMA in Wrocław

On Tuesday, 12 May 2015, Wrocław hosted a regional conference dedicated to the development and drafting of planning documents devoted to flood risk management. Attended by more than 120 stakeholders representing public administration and NGOs, Wrocław’s conference focused on the Flood Risk Management Plan (FRMP) for the Central Oder.
